Many times its happens that due to some reason we forget major password root password of linux desktop servers in that case it become very difficult situation but thanks for such a cool n simple way which allow your to crack reset any Linux machine passwords just by following few steps. :-
1. Start your linux OS then go to grub menu and hold down the shift key.
2 .In the grub menu, choose for the “recovery mode” option.
3. now you need to select “root Drop into root shell prompt“ .
4. next step is to run is command :-
# mount -rw -o remount /
5. finally run:- passwd
its will ask for new password put new password and enjoy!!
